The Global Action Research Collaborative of Girls’ Education (2021/22) project has seen Pymble Maths teacher, Katie Jackson, undertake action research in whiteboards, problem-solving and girls' maths learning. Katie is preparing to present her paper at the National Coalition Girls’ Schools (USA) conference in June.
Pymble is excited to partner with academics from the School of Education, Western Sydney University to research impacts of long-stay and outdoor education experiences for our students. The goal is to establish a baseline to allow the College to understand how learning and wellbeing in students changes over time.
Pymble's Year 5 team and participating Year 5 students are commencing their support of PhD research into the topic of teachers’ beliefs and pedagogical practices in ability-grouped primary mathematics classrooms.
Pymble Student Research Conference: 'Researching students? Students as researchers and researched' – Tuesday 17 May, 5.00pm until 8.00pm, including an optional pizza picnic networking dinner from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.
The new Academic Research Club creates a community which fosters the importance of developing an environment which enforces the importance of a researching environment among students.
The Pymble Institute is proud to encourage growth amongst educators and students. Our contribution is to children, young people and communities within and beyond our own College. Research skills, including action research and formal research, have an exciting role to play in enhancing teaching practice. Such approaches promote deep learning and decisive action and assist educators and students alike to maximise their impact and create positive change.
Edition 6 of the College’s research journal, Illuminate: Research and Innovation is now available.
